In April 2014, Issa Nicole Ledesma was diagnosed with a glioblastoma brain tumor and passed away three months later at the age of 24. Conventional medical treatments like chemotherapy and radiation were not an option for Issa, and, at the time there was no known cure.

In June 2016, A Cure for Issa was established to help create a space for healing and relief by providing opportunities for the community to learn about chronic illness and disease, and to help fund research for alternative medical therapies.

FAQs

What is a non-profit organization?

+

A non-profit organization is a group created to serve people, strengthen communities and support causes that improve lives. Rather than operating for profit, nonprofits focus on delivering meaningful impact in areas like health, education, humanitarian aid, and community care.

Leadership and transparency

+

A non-profit is guided by a dedicated leadership team and governed by a board of directors. Together, they steward the mission, oversee finances and ensure the organization stays true to its purpose. Public reporting and accountability practices provide transparency, so donors and community members can give with confidence.

How your contributions help

+

All donations or charitable contributions directly support our programs and services. Funds provide vital resources and tools, and help cover essential operating costs that keep our mission moving forward. Every contribution strengthens our ability to serve communities in need. Donations are tax-deductible in the U.S. under IRS 501c3 guidelines.
